Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to lead ecological assessments, guide junior staff, and manage projects to deliver ecological and environmental services to our clients. This role involves leading bird and bat utilisation surveys (BBUS) to support windfarm assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead ecological surveys, impact assessments, and offset investigations.
* Deliver bird and bat risk assessments, utilisation surveys, and adaptive management plans.
* Provide high-quality technical reports and review team deliverables.
* Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring timely completion.
* Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior ecologists.
* Engage with clients and stakeholders for clear communication and high satisfaction.
* Support bid win strategies and project proposals.
* Develop project delivery plans and collaborate with internal teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in ecological consulting.
* Strong knowledge of NSW environmental regulations and ecological assessment methodologies.
* Experience developing and implementing bird and bat risk assessments, utilisation surveys, and adaptive management plans.
* BAM Accredited, or comprehensive understanding of the BAM.
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
* Demonstrated experience in project management, client engagement, and team leadership.
