**The Opportunity -**

Are you passionate about aviation and eager to share your knowledge with the next generation of Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army pilots? Boeing Defence Australia are seeking experienced **Helicopter Qualified Flying Instructor**s (QFI's) to join the team.

These Instructor positions will support the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS), operating the EC135 T2+. The QFI is primarily responsible for the conduct of ab-initio pilot helicopter flying instruction.

If you are looking to join an exciting team that provides support to the EC-135 Helicopter fleet to achieve the mission of training pilots, aircrew and aviation warfare officers to the Australian Defence Force, we have multiple full time employment opportunities available.

These roles are based in Nowra.

As a **Qualified Flight Instructor**within BDA, you will:
Conduct ab-initio flight instruction on the EC-135 T2+ aircraf
- t Conduct ground instruction, briefings and lecture
- s Operate Training Aircraft and Training Equipment (live and synthetic devices
- ) Update trainee record
- s Brief the Pilot Training Officer on trainee progres
- s Mentor trainee
- s Review trainee progress in ground Training events and assessment
- s Update Aircraft record
- s Maintain aircrew qualifications and currency requirements in accordance with all relevant Standing Instructions and as amended by Special Flying Instruction
- s Conduct Secondary Missions in support of 723 SQN tasking where requeste
- d Provide flying supervision to trainee
- s Review and recommend changes to Training packages and coursewar
- e Provide support to JHS Winching and Load lifting Training evolution
- s Perform other duties, as required by the Pilot Training Office
- r Provide written and verbal pre-briefs and debriefs to student
- s Participate in external evaluations (including safety related investigations
- ) Assist the HATS Training Manager as required for BDA related activitie
- s Comply with the WHS-related JHS OIP to ensure a safe workplac

**To be considered for the role you will have**:
Essential Criteria:
Current CASA Class 1 Medical and ability to maintain the requirements of this medical certificat
- e CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) - CPL(H) (minimum
- ) CASA Command Instrument Rating (Helicopter), or military equivalen
- t CASA Night Visual Flight Rules Rating, or military equivalen
- t CASA Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) rating, or military equivalen
- t CASA Sling Load and Winching Operations Endorsement, or military equivalen
- t CASA Flying Instructor (Helicopter) Grade 2 rating, or military equivalen
- t TAE40122 or current TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or ability to obtai
- n Category C rotary wing Qualified Flying Instructor or greate
- r Military flight instruction experienc
- e A history of helicopter NVD formation experienc
- e 250hours of NVD flight operation
- s Have held a previous day and night Deck Landing Qualification (DLQ
- ) Must have clear and effective English written and verbal communication skills in a stressful flying environmen
