Indie Education is an educational hub and home to a family of training and educational programs, providing learning services for all age groups, driven by a team that is dedicated and passionate about lifelong learning. Our programs cater for the needs and interests of young people, senior secondary school students in Years 9 to 12, the general community, third age learners, and adults with a disability in supported employment, training and lifestyle activities.

Due to company expansion, an exciting opportunity has been created for a full‐time Team Leader (Senior ICT Officer – Technology) to join our team, based at one of the following Indie Education sites – Cowandilla (South Australia), Wodonga (VIC) or Brisbane (Queensland).

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Team Leader to lead our Helpdesk, Device Management and ICT Procurement functions. This role is responsible for delivering reliable, secure and user‐focused ICT services while driving best practice in modern device management and support operations.

This position suits a hands‐on leader with strong technical depth in end‐user computing, Microsoft Intune, and remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms such as NinjaOne, combined with a passion for mentoring staff and improving service delivery.

Reporting to the Head of ICT, you will be accountable for the operational leadership, performance and continuous improvement of the Helpdesk and Device Management teams, as well as oversight of ICT procurement and asset management.

You will ensure staff are supported with responsive ICT services, devices are securely managed throughout their lifecycle and procurement activities deliver value, compliance and consistency across the company.

You will play a pivotal role in uplifting ICT capability, supporting the helpdesk and device teams and contributing to planned works, projects, documentation and governance, while ensuring systems remain compliant with security best practice and company requirements.

The role will provide support to staff and students across all sites and programmes that encompass Indie Education inclusive of Indie School, Indie College, Aware Programs and Corporate Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Service Delivery

* Lead, mentor and develop the ICT Helpdesk and Device teams to deliver high‐quality, customer‐focused support.
* Oversee incident, request and problem management in line with agreed service levels.
* Manage ticket queues, prioritisation, escalations and workload distribution.
* Ensure clear documentation, knowledge base articles and procedures are maintained.
* Drive service improvements using trends, reporting and feedback.

Device Management & End‐User Computing

* Oversee the full end‐user device lifecycle, including procurement, build, deployment, refresh, redeployment and disposal.
* Lead end‐user computing environments, including laptops, mobile devices and peripherals for both staff and students.
* Ensure consistent device build standards, images and configurations.
* Manage remote device support and monitoring, ensuring devices remain reliable and secure.
* Plan and deliver structured device refresh programmes aligned with business needs and budgets.
* Ensure accurate asset tracking, auditing and reporting.
* Provide technical direction for Microsoft Intune device management, including Windows, mobile and endpoint configuration profiles and application deployment and updates.
* Oversee the use of NinjaOne for Remote monitoring and management. Patch management, automation, scripting, proactive alerting and issue resolution.
* Continuously improve endpoint management maturity and automation.

ICT Procurement & Asset Management

* Coordinate ICT procurement activities for hardware, software, licensing and support services.
* Manage supplier relationships, quotes, renewals and contract engagements.
* Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, budgets and approval frameworks.
* Support forecasting, budgeting and lifecycle planning for end‐user devices.
* Maintain accurate asset registers, warranty records and licensing compliance.

Security, Compliance & Governance

* Ensure endpoint security controls are implemented and maintained.
* Support patching, endpoint protection and secure configuration practices.
* Contribute to ICT governance, audits and risk management activities.
* Promote cyber‐aware behaviours across the company.

Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement

* Build positive relationships across the company.
* Be a Change Management champion.
* Act as a key point of contact for business stakeholders regarding end‐user ICT services.
* Communicate clearly around incidents, changes and service improvements.
* Identify opportunities to improve user experience through technology and process improvement.

Skills & Experience

* Demonstrated experience leading an ICT Helpdesk or End‐User Computing team.
* Strong hands‐on experience with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management and security.
* Experience using NinjaOne or similar RMM tools for monitoring, patching and automation.
* Understanding of device lifecycle management and ICT procurement.
* Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills.
* A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and service excellence.

Relevant ICT qualifications or certifications are highly regarded.

Currently Hold or Willing to Obtain

* National Police Check (issued within 3 months prior to appointment)
* Working with Children's Check
* Current Driver's licence
* Full time permanent position, Monday to Friday

Remuneration

* Level 5 – $101,419.00
* A company laptop and phone are provided with this position.
* Access to Salary Packaging through Maxxia – up to $15,900 per (FBT) year to significantly boost your take‐home pay.
* 5 days Company Benefit Leave on top of your annual leave entitlements to use over the 3 week company shut‐down period in December / January.
* Salary Packaging: $15,900
