About the role:
We're seeking a dedicated Maintenance Planner to join Orica at our Kalgoorlie Explosive Reserve, a vital facility responsible for producing emulsion used in blasting operations across the mining and quarrying industries. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and plays a crucial part in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the site.
As a key member of the asset management team, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of Orica's asset management strategy and engineering standards. Your focus will be on ensuring the reliability, condition, and productive capacity of the plant's assets through systematic and cost-effective maintenance practices—all while upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
What you will be doing:
* Manage all aspects of planning for the maintenance department, including allocation of Preventive Maintenance (PMs) tasks, project tasks, maintenance notification and break down tasks to site maintenance electricians and fitters.
* Maintain control of ordering and receipting parts, raising POs for contract labour while building a working relationship with contractors and suppliers.
* Maintain and continuously develop and improve the critical spares list.
* Ensure employee participation in Orica's safety programs including Take5, JSERA's and safe work practices and provide feedback on SHE issues
* Maintain high SHEC compliance by ensuring adherence to Safe Systems of work, promoting safe behaviours and maintaining the integrity of SHEC engineering controls
* Continued development of safe working practices to ensure no injury to self or others.
