About the Role
The Graduate Geologist is responsible for coordinating with Mine Geologists and Underground operators to ensure all required headings are mapped and photographed.
* Issue Geological Control Instructions (GCIs)
* Collect rock chip and sludge drilling samples
* Collect geological information including lithology and structural measurements
* Delivery of samples to on-site assay laboratory
* Daily entry of data into database
* Stope Inspections
* Rotate and mark-up drill core in preparation for Geological logging
* Record basic Geotechnical logging data
* Sample drill core
* Transfer full core trays between roller racks and storage pallets
* Clean out and stack used core trays for re-use
* Operation of hand-held X-Ray Fluorescence device
* Operation of forklift (if licenced)

* Strong understanding of geological principles and concepts
* Ability to interpret geological data and maps
* Effective communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work independently and make decisions
* Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
