About the Role
The Endoscopy Surgical Liaison Nurse will co-ordinate, negotiate and manage the transition of care of endoscopy patients throughout the continuum. You will be primarily responsible for managing the Endoscopy preparation list according to the planned surgery access policy, streamline the planned admission process, and work towards decreasing wait for procedure.
Aware of the Planned Surgery Access Policy principles with regards to when patients are placed on the preparation list
Aware of the Colonoscopy clinical care standard and principles
Liaise with staff and other relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate case management of patients
Monitor cancellations and arrange appropriate follow up
Monitor Category 1 patients to ensure they are treated within 30 days.
Manage Category 2 & 3 patients to ensure they are treated within their designated time frame set by the Department of Health
Classifications for this position will be YU11 ($110,614.40 Per Annum)
Your Contribution
Bachelor of Nursing, which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
At least 3 years postgraduate acute surgical or endoscopy nursing experience
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Planned Surgery
The Planned Surgery Management Team (PSMT) coordinates and case manages patients that are on the St Vincent’s Hospital planned surgery preparation list in accordance with the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy. The PSMT is responsible for the case management all patients across the surgical specialties at SVHM and Endoscopy including diagnostic and interventional procedures.
