The Opportunity
Come and join our team! We are seeking a Disability Support Worker located in Andrews Farm.
Responsibilities
* Providing support in everyday daily activities around the home
* Providing support with hygiene and personal care
* Complex care support – Hoist, Bowel care, catheter management (Supra pubic catheter), Enema, Medication and Manual handling
* Assistance, support, and chaperoning activities outside the home workplace
* Assisting with medication compliance which may include the dispensation of prescription medication
* Meal assistance which may include meal preparation
Who we're looking for
* A person-centered, warm approach with a compassionate and non-judgmental disposition
* Interest or experience in complex care, bariatric care, disability, and health nuances.
* Excellent communicator: listens well, reads cues, and adapts to different styles.
* Reliable and professional, with good notetaking and teamwork.
* Flexible and adaptable; comfortable with changing needs and shifts.
Essential requirements
* Robust knowledge of manual handling, WHS, and risk management
* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent preferred
* NDIS Clearance, First Aid (3 yrs), CPR (12 months) and National police clearance – or willingness to obtain
* At least one year experience as a Disability Support Worker
* Mental Health Work experience preferred
* Pre-employment medical check
* Driver's License, reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance
