Role Administration & Community Engagement Officer Guthridge Primary School Position Overview Guthridge Primary School is seeking a highly organised, creative and community-focused Administration & Community Engagement Officer to join our office team. This role is dual-focused: Core School Administration Duties ¿ as part of our front office team. Publicity & Community Engagement Leadership ¿ driving our school¿s communication, branding and community presence. The successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of the school while also shaping how Guthridge tells its story to families and the broader community. Key Responsibilities1. School Administration & Office Operations As a key member of our administration team, the successful applicant will: Provide professional and welcoming front-of-house reception services. Answer and manage incoming phone calls and enquiries. Greet and assist parents, students and visitors in a friendly and supportive manner. Manage student attendance processes and follow-up communication. Respond to parent enquiries via phone, email and in person. Maintain accurate student and family records. Support enrolment processes and documentation. Assist with first aid support where required (training provided if necessary). Coordinate school correspondence and documentation. Support leadership with administrative tasks and event coordination. Process payments, permissions and school-related forms. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Child Safe Standards and DET requirements. Contribute to a calm, organised and professional office environment. Publicity, Branding & Community Engagement (Primary Focus Area) The major component of this role is to lead and manage the school¿s communication and publicity platforms to ensure Guthridge Primary School¿s story is shared in a professional, engaging and on-brand way. Responsibilities include: Digital Communication & Media Coordinate and publish the weekly school newsletter. Manage and update the school¿s Facebook page. Oversee Class Dojo whole-school posts and community updates. Prepare content for the school website. Develop engaging content aligned with the Guthridge brand and values. Community & Media Engagement Liaise with local newspapers and community media outlets. Prepare and submit school stories and media releases. Promote student achievements, events and key initiatives. Build positive relationships with community partners and local organisations. Content Creation & Storytelling Interview students, staff and families to capture authentic school stories. Create engaging student highlight videos and celebration pieces. Develop promotional videos for events and school initiatives. Photograph school events and classroom activities. Create digital signage content for the school¿s front sign. Ensure all content reflects the school¿s values, tone and branding. Brand & Engagement Development Maintain consistent visual identity across all platforms. Design engaging posters, graphics and promotional materials. Support whole-school events (e.g. Open Nights, Assemblies, Community Gatherings). Increase parent engagement through strategic communication. Monitor engagement analytics and suggest improvements. Guthridge Primary School is located in Sale, Gippsland, and is approximately 220 km east of Melbourne.
Enrolments in 2026 will be approximately 280 with a Student Family Occupation and Education (SFOE) index of 0.5070. Our school has high expectations of all its students and aims to provide an opportunity for each of them to develop as learners, now and in the future. Guthridge has a Foundation-support class specifically designed to support the transition from kindergarten to school for children who need a settling year of school, after a year at kindergarten.
We have superior facilities to support all students in all domains. Our purpose built Fitness Centre accommodates all forms of ball and racquet sports. Our Swimming Program operates in our own enclosed, heated swimming pool with qualified instructors.
