NQM Gold 2 Pty is an Australian-operated gold explorer, developer, and producer operating since 2009. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50 km from Charters Towers and currently employs about 200 people in underground mining and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and offers excellent schooling opportunities and all the facilities expected in a large regional town.
Overview
Reporting to the Underground Electrical Superintendent, the UG Electrician will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations within the underground electrical infrastructure. This role is offered as a DIDO/Residential Role on a 7/7 roster.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards and specifications.
* Performance test equipment before signing off to ensure safe and efficient operation.
* Maintain all electrical equipment in the underground plant.
* Inspect, service, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
* Complete assigned work and associated paperwork.
* Conduct breakdown and PM checks as required.
* Supervise the work of electrical contractors when engaged to carry out work on-site.
* Be proactive in identifying and reporting potential hazards and eliminating risk-taking behaviours or actions.
* Ensure good clear communication lines within the team and with other sections/departments.
Qualifications
* Queensland Electrical Licence.
* 3 years' experience as an underground maintenance electrician.
* High voltage switching & permitting systems.
* Flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks within a small maintenance team.
* Instrumentation competencies and training.
* Fault‐finding experience on SCADA, HMI, and PLC telemetry systems.
* Exposure to maintenance management systems such as Pronto.
