Executive Level 1, Ongoing /non‐ongoing for 12 months.

$110,115 - $120,760 per annum + 15.4% super. Melbourne.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Melbourne Observing Operations Hub Operations Manager. You will join a leadership team of eight hub operations managers from diverse backgrounds, based around Australia, who ensure critical weather‐observing equipment is maintained and operational to deliver high‐quality data for forecasting and warnings for the Australian public.

People‐focused, a strong communicator and organised with a focus on tracking progress against budgets, annual works programmes, KPIs, and workforce management and planning. Comfortable working in a technical setting and with engineered systems and networks. Enjoys working autonomously but collaborates closely across the organisation to improve service. Demonstrates a culture of safety first and is skilled at driving organisational change and continuous improvement to support national consistency and operational excellence.

• Manage a team of hands‐on field maintenance staff, weather observers and operational logistics support teams.
• Foster people and technical leaders within the team.
• Track progress against budgets, annual works programmes, KPIs and workforce management and planning.
• Collaborate across the organisation to improve service delivery.
• Drive organisational change and continuous improvement in processes to support national consistency and operational excellence.

Melbourne Observing Operations Hub's immediate area of responsibility encompasses all of Victoria. The Observing Operations Hub Operations Manager reports to the Manager, National Observing Operations.
