Job Description - Senior Project Engineer - Electrical (263304)HumeLink West ProjectTwo CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.The Opportunity Please note this role will initially be based in Sydney, with transition into a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply. Key AccountabilitiesWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Electrical, to join the HumeLink West team. The position is responsible for:Developing detailed electrical designs, specifications, and technical documentation to meet project requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.Leading the delivery of Electrical Engineering activities across all project phases, including procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, quality, and schedule objectives.Collaborating with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to align project deliverables, address technical queries, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies, while resolving technical challenges that arise during project execution.Providing technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.About YouA degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Extensive experience in Electrical Project Engineering, preferably within transmission and substations, large infrastructure or energy sectors.Proficiency in electrical design, power systems, and relevant engineering standards, with experience in managing HV/LV systems and commissioning activities.Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and schedule tracking.Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards, with certifications such as HV Switching, White Card or other relevant safety and technical qualifications.The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
