Selection Criteria
SC1: Demonstrated high level skills, knowledge and experience necessary to manage and maintain the school's Information and Communications Systems, both within the organisation and school and other organisations, including the appropriate qualifications, technical skills and expertise as relevant to this work.
SC2: Demonstrated capacity to organise the collection and analysis of high-level organisational data for the purpose of improving student learning and organisational performance.
SC3: Demonstrated experience in creation of media, including but not limited to: Filming, editing, and publishing of videos and photos.
SC4: Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with a range of personnel including the ability to work effectively in a team, in the organising and prioritising of work, together with communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, colleagues and members of the broader community.
SC5: Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of self, systems and processes in the school, and ability to create or refine such processes and systems which lead to greater efficiency and capacity to meet the school's aims and needs.

Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Responsibilities
* Manage the work practices and priorities of support staff in a school/s.
* Manage the maintenance of confidentiality in respect to all school records and communication systems.
* Undertake systems design, program design and specification and direct programming changes necessary to enhance, modify or maintain a computer system.
* Evaluate and report on the operational efficiency of computer systems in production, making recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
* Examine and report on the efficiency and effectiveness of hardware configurations, software operating systems, data transmission networks and generalised software packages.
* Develop and conduct training programs for computer systems users.
* Modify and adapt accepted methods and guidelines and interpret and analyse complex data across several sub-disciplines.
* Develop techniques and procedures that will affect work practices beyond the work place.
* Manage a technical program with a broad scope across the school.
* Support and editing of College Digital Resources
* Provide audio/visual and digital support for events with a significant IT Component (eg NAPLAN/Assemblies)
* Work as a team member within an operations hub that manages day-to-day IT and Logistics across the College
* Support with Daily Organiser duties when required.

Mernda Central P-12 College operates under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Through this model, the College has been financed, designed, and constructed by the private sector to meet high contractual standards.
