About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and customer-focused individual with a strong background in Biology or Environmental Science. The ideal candidate will hold certifications such as PADI Dive Master, current medical and dive insurance, first aid and CPR, RSA, and food hygiene certificates.
About the Role
This position requires a deep understanding of Coral Reef Biology and the ability to deliver presentations and guided snorkel tours that captivate audiences. Key responsibilities include monitoring programs, research projects, and reef education initiatives. A Divemaster qualification is highly regarded.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
1. Biology presentations, guided snorkel tours, semi-submersible tours and marine lab presentations
2. Eyeballing the health of coral reefs through our Eye on the Reef monitoring programs, Mars Reef Star monitoring, fine scale benthic survey techniques, fish underwater visual census surveys, coral spawning and settlement.
3. Delivering informative sessions on Coral Reef Biology to students from local, national and international schools & universities, training and supporting our Cultural Guides.
4. Collaborative research projects focusing on coral and fish biology, fish aggregations, coral spawning, juvenile crown-of-thorns starfish, hydrodynamics and coral rubble stabilisation.
