About the role
Barwon Health is seeking a proactive Workplace Relations Adviser to provide expert advice and support to managers and employees across our organisation. You will take a hands-on, solution-focused approach to resolving complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, and reclassification claims.
Working within the Workplace Relations Team, you will coach and support managers through employee relations procedures, case manage matters from first contact to resolution, and contribute to strategies and policies that foster strong people management practices across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Provide expert, practical advice to managers and employees on employment relations and conditions
* Case manage employee relations matters, including grievances, performance management, and disciplinary processes
* Support and coach managers through decision-making and employee relations procedures
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, unions, and external parties
* Contribute to workplace relations strategies, policies, and initiatives
* Maintain accurate, compliant records of all employee relations activities
What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience in employee relations advisory or HR/IR roles
* Knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and enterprise agreements
* Proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases from start to finish
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused approach aligned with Barwon Health values
