A well established and highly regarded rigging and lifting services business is seeking an OH&S Coordinator to join its Melbourne operation, with a clear pathway to step into a WHS Manager position within 12 months.
This is a hands on role suited to someone who understands that safety leadership in construction and rigging requires both site credibility and strong systems capability. You will work closely with senior construction leaders, operational teams and the National WHS Manager to strengthen compliance, improve site standards and support a growing workforce across multiple projects.
This opportunity will suit someone confident working across both site and office environments, able to engage directly with crews, clients and management, and comfortable driving standards in a practical, no-nonsense way.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating site and employee inductions
* Preparing and managing SWMS documentation, client safety checklists and compliance requirements
* Managing training records, VOCs and workforce competency tracking
* Liaising with clients on WHS requirements and site expectations
* Supporting workforce engagement across safety practices and behavioural standards
* Maintaining policies, procedures and employee code of conduct documentation
* Managing equipment registers including electrical tagging, height safety and lifting compliance schedules
* Injury management, incident reporting and WHS statistics
* Supporting audits, compliance reporting and ongoing safety improvement initiatives
To succeed in this role you will ideally bring:
* Previous experience in WHS coordination within construction, rigging, cranes, steel, transport or industrial services
* Strong working knowledge of SWMS, inductions, permits and contractor compliance
* Confidence engaging with site personnel, supervisors and senior leadership
* Strong computer and reporting capability
* A practical communication style with the ability to influence on site
* A proactive approach and willingness to be visible in the field
