* Specialising in Justice Reinvestment
* 1 year fixed-term full-time contract
* (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
* Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum + super

POSITION CONTEXT

We are seeking an experienced Justice Reinvestment Worker to work within the Social Health Team of Winnunga, who focuses on addressing the underlying causes of contact with the justice system by investing in community-led solutions, strengthening support networks, and promoting positive social outcomes.

This exceptionally professional and committed staff member will be responsible for the following tasks:

* Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to build trust and strong relationships.
* Support individuals and families through early intervention and referral to appropriate services.
* Advocate the needs of clients to services such as ACT Housing, CentreLink, ACT Mental Health Services, Justice and Community Safety, Family and Community Services.
* Assist in delivering justice reinvestment programs and community-based initiatives.
* Collaborate with internal teams, community organisations, and government agencies.
* Maintain accurate case notes, program documentation, and reporting.
* Deliver services including counselling, referral and support for a range of issues like justice/legal matters, substance use, care and protection matters, homelessness and social and emotional wellbeing support.
* Deliver a high level of support to clients who are incarcerated, and/or who have been in contact with the criminal justice system.
* Provide support and assistance to clients who are attending Court, advocate the needs of clients to external services and facilitate and initiate group meetings and support sessions that involve clients, families and community members.

We are looking for exceptionally empathetic and resilient person who has:

* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Strong understanding of social issues linked to justice system involvement.
* Background in community services, social work, youth work, or similar fields.
* Excellent communication, engagement, and organisational skills.
* Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or willingness to obtain.
* Current driver’s licence.
