Primary objective

Assist in the development and implementation of communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities to assist people in

understanding their obligations under the legislation administered by NT WorkSafe.

Context statement

NT WorkSafe is responsible for assisting businesses and workers understand their obligations under work health and safety, dangerous

goods, electrical safety, and rehabilitation and workers compensation laws in the Northern Territory. This position supports the

Communication Manager to provide communication and marketing services and requires high attention to detail, the ability to work within

a small team and work independently when required.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and communication activities in consultation with the Communications

Manager.

2. Assist with the coordination and management of internal and external NT WorkSafe events, including national events such as National

Safe Work Month, as well as providing onsite event support such as venue setup and pack-down, managing registrations, liaising with

presenters and/or suppliers and handling any enquiries.

1. Coordinate the publishing, advertising and media monitoring requirements of NT WorkSafe.
2. Assist with the drafting, editing and publishing of content, including news items, incident information releases, safety alerts and videos

on NT WorkSafe's digital platforms.

5. Establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

6. Provide support to other NT WorkSafe business units as required.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated practical knowledge of communication and marketing processes, including experience in developing and implementing

communication and marketing projects, as well as coordinating advertising and events.

2. Demonstrated writing skills and experience in developing content for a range of target audiences and communication channels,

including translating legal and technical information into plain English.

3. Well-developed organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting workloads, while maintaining

attention to detail.

4. Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with a range of

stakeholders.

5. Demonstrated experience in working effectively as part of a small team, with the ability to work independently when required, and

exercise initiative.

6. Demonstrated experience in desktop publishing, applying brand guidelines and the ability to use related graphic design applications.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing or related discipline.

2. Experience in publishing on digital platforms such as YouTube, Vision6 and Eventbrite.

3. Current NT Drivers Licence.

Further information

After hours work will be required from time to time to assist with the coordination and management of external events, this may include

the requirement to travel to remote locations that may include overnight stays as required.
