About the Role
As a Primary Teacher at LCGS, you will play a vital role in shaping the learning experiences of our youngest learners. You will design and deliver engaging, well-structured learning programs that reflect evidence-based practice and are aligned to the Australian Curriculum and the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).
In this position, you will:
Plan and deliver coherent, differentiated and age-appropriate learning activities that cater for students' diverse physical, social, cultural and intellectual development.
Use a range of effective teaching strategies to develop students' knowledge, skills, critical and creative thinking, and a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy.
Create supportive, inclusive and safe learning environments where students feel valued and are encouraged to thrive.
Incorporate technology meaningfully and ethically into learning and teaching.
Assess student learning using diagnostic, formative and summative strategies and provide timely, respectful and actionable feedback.
Build strong relationships with students and families, engaging parents/carers in their child's learning.
Contribute to the broader life of the Junior Campus through collaborative practice, pastoral care, professional learning, and active participation in school initiatives.
Uphold the School's commitment to child safety and wellbeing at all times.
This is a
full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed-term 12-month position
, based at our Junior Campus.
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic, student-centred educator who demonstrates:
A strong understanding of how children learn and how to differentiate for a range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
Experience designing and implementing engaging, well-sequenced learning programs.
Effective classroom management skills and the ability to foster positive, respectful relationships.
Experience using assessment data to inform planning and improve learning outcomes.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A growth mindset, positive attitude, and commitment to continuous professional learning.
A strong alignment with the School's Anglican ethos and values.
Highly regarded:
Experience in an
IB PYP
setting.
Previous experience teaching in primary year levels.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Education (or equivalent).
Current or eligible registration with the
Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board
.
Working with Vulnerable People (Tasmania)
registration.
HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
(or willingness to obtain).
HLTAID009 – Provide CPR
(or willingness to obtain).
Commitment to child safety and safeguarding requirements, including mandatory reporting obligations.
