We have an exciting opportunity for a recent journalism graduate ready to make their mark in one of Western Australia’s most dynamic and newsworthy regions. Based in our Karratha office, you will be at the forefront of local storytelling covering everything from community news and sport to photography and digital content.
This role offers hands-on experience across multiple platforms, providing a strong foundation to accelerate your journalism career in a fast-paced regional newsroom.
You will bring tertiary qualifications in journalism, or a related field, along with a genuine passion for local news and a solid understanding of digital platforms and social media.
A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a strong eagerness to learn and grow within a supportive team environment are essential.

About The Role
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key community members and and writing original news stories for both print and digital news and producing engaging, timely content.Actively contributing to news planning meetings and collaborating with the Northern Papers Editor on story development.Conducting interviews and capturing high-quality photographs with professionalism and confidence.
