Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
Rates and Revenue Officer
Salary: $73,089.64 per annum

Greater Shepparton City Council have an opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to join the Rates and Revenue Team as a Rates and Revenue Officer.
If you have administration experience, have worked with a high volume of transactions or customer requests, are an effective communicator and a good problem solver, you will be a great fit with our team.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and process incoming customer requests;
* Maintaining Council’s property ownership records and name & address register;
* Maintaining the integrity of data in relation to Rates and Revenue functions;
* Processing Supplementary Valuations and Objections;
* Processing financial adjustments; and
* Attending to enquiries from ratepayers, Government agencies and external contractors.
* The ability to learn new systems and processes, adjust to competing demands and maintain a high level of attention to detail are essential skills to be successful in the role.
You’ll be joining an experienced and multi-skilled team who are focussed on providing great customer service while ensuring optimisation of Council’s revenue functions. You’ll be supported with on the job training that connects your experience to our systems, processes and people. Additionally, there’s opportunity learn and grow through exposure to Council’s broader revenue functions.

Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period.
