About the Office
The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Arts and Sciences delivers a practical, ethical and industry-focused education in diverse areas of study such as the liberal arts, communications and media, counselling and science, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.
About the role
The Administrative Officer will provide a wide variety of administrative duties to support the school in the areas of teaching, learning and research. This role will also provide quality support to the Administration Coordinator in the effective management and operation of the school .
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the school including arranging events, regular and ad hoc meetings, teaching program support, managing and supporting School Advisory Boards and School committees (minutes, agenda papers and scheduling).
* Provide excellent customer service to students and University stakeholders.
* Completing tasks and communications in an accurate and timely manner, whilst liaising closely with other areas of the organisation.
* Ensure the dissemination of specific and accurate advice while maintaining confidentiality, integrity and compliance.
* Interpret and apply policies, practices and standards under general direction to organise and prioritise work, while using judgment to solve problems arising in own work area.
* Gain an understanding of university matters and contribute to the improvement of service delivery across the wider University.
* Ability to work accurately with detailed information; including data entry, maintaining spreadsheets, managing correspondence, collating data for report and under direction prepare a range of written communication
Qualifications, skills & experience
* A Diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Proven administrative experience in a busy, fluid environment (higher education experience highly regarded).
* Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply them.
* Demonstrated success in the delivery of quality client service.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
