Arc Laureate Research/Postdoctoral Fellow
The Australian National University is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Postdoctoral Fellow in Professor Hrvoje Tkalcic's Global & Planetary Seismology Group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and conduct seismic imaging research to map the Earth's core and its interactions with upper layers.
* Publish high-impact research findings in leading scientific journals.
* Mentor PhD students and contribute to graduate training programs.
* Engage in outreach and service activities, including seminars, peer review, and participation in university committees.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across geodynamics, geomagnetism, mineral physics, and planetary science.

This postdoctoral position is an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher to contribute to the development of innovative seismic imaging techniques and collaborate with a team of experts in global seismology.
Requirements:
* Hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in seismology, geophysics, computer/data science, or planetary science.
* Demonstrated expertise in global seismology, particularly related to the Earth's core, core–mantle boundary, or mantle structure.
* Proficiency in waveform processing, programming (Python, ObsPy, SPECFEM), and forward or inverse modelling.
* Record of high-quality publications and conference presentations.
* Experience with machine learning, array seismology, or planetary mission data analysis (e.g., InSight or Apollo) is desirable.
* Evidence of mentoring, outreach, or interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
