Job Title: Emergency Medicine Specialist
About the Role:
In this critical role, you will work in a fast-paced emergency department environment, utilizing your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and negotiate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work across 7 days, with 38 hours per week, including 4 shifts per week.
2. Collaborate with physicians/consultants, senior registrars/medical practitioners, and consultants available on call.
3. Manage a diverse range of cases from neonates to geriatric patients, including trauma, resuscitation, and toxicology.
About the Facility:
The hospital serves as a primary regional healthcare facility in northern Victoria, with over 200 beds and a population of around 90,000. It manages nearly 19,000 inpatient cases and 23,000 visits to the Emergency Department annually, providing specialized medical and surgical services, including emergency care, critical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, and aged care.

Requirements:
1. Fellowship (FACEM) or eligible for fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM).
2. International Medical Graduates (IMGs) eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada, or Ireland).
3. IMGs assessed by ACEM College as Substantially Comparable.
4. Doctors awarded the fellowship (FACEM) within the next 6 months are encouraged to apply.
