You will be assisting the local government in research, analysis, and reporting. The Senior Governance Officer role entail knowing the Local Government Act, regulations and Council meeting processes to deliver services to customers as well as internal communications. Client Details Our client is a local government that is known for its diverse communities, ranging from residential areas to commercial and recreation spaces. They provide a wide range of services, including waste management, parks maintenance, and community programs. They are focused on sustainability, urban planning, and enhancing the well-being of its residents, fostering an inclusive and vibrant community. They are seeking a dedicated and motivated Senior Governance Officer to join their team and contribute to the ongoing success of the city. Description As a Senior Governance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the local government in compliance and governance functions. You will be responsible for ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in decision-making processes, while assisting with the management of council meetings, records, and legislative compliance. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the coordination and preparation of Council meetings, including agendas, minutes, and supporting documentation. Provide advice and support on governance and legislative matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Maintain and manage records related to governance, including policies, procedures, and council documents. Support the preparation of reports and presentations for Council, management, and other stakeholders. Contribute to the development and implementation of governance frameworks and policies. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and compliance with governance standards. Assist with the review and implementation of governance-related strategies, including risk management and internal controls.
