The School
We are ideally seeking an exceptional Early Childhood Teacher to join our passionate and collaborative team, delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Kindergarten to Year 2.
Bannister Creek Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School, situated in Lynwood. Our school caters for approximately 630 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in a beautifully planned environment that focuses on providing sustainable opportunities including a school gardening club with vegetable, herb and Indigenous plant gardens and an outdoor classroom on site as well as Moort Boodja - a 6 Seasons Garden. Our proximity to the Bannister Creek allows us the privilege to embed an authentic Care for Country program. We have 24 classrooms including 6 purpose-built ECE rooms, as well as a contemporary library resource centre, specialist art, science and music rooms and a fully enclosed undercover area.

The Role
The successful applicant should be a committed educator who understands the unique developmental needs of early learners and can seamlessly integrate explicit literacy instruction with intentional, play-based learning. They will ideally have a deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy, curriculum frameworks, and inclusive, culturally responsive practices.
We are ideally looking for an applicant who displays the following:
* Deliver developmentally appropriate and engaging learning programs aligned to the Western Australian Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Western Australian Curriculum (PP–2), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and National Quality Standard (NQS).
* Implement high-impact teaching strategies informed by the Quality Teaching Strategy, Teach for Impact, and Cognitive Brain Theory to support young learners' cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
* Effectively balance explicit instruction in foundational literacy and numeracy with inquiry-based and intentional play-based learning that fosters creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking.
* Use a range of formative and summative assessments to collect and analyse student data, demonstrating a high level of data literacy to inform differentiated instruction and early intervention.
* Embed cultural responsiveness across all learning experiences, incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, Two-Way Learning, and principles of Care for Country.
* Collaborate effectively within dynamic teaching teams to co-plan, co-teach, and share best practices in a culture of continuous improvement and reflection.
* Apply trauma-informed practice, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for behaviour, and inclusive approaches that recognise and respond to the needs of neurodiverse learners.
* Create a positive, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environment using a proactive and flexible classroom management toolbox in a Positive Behaviour Schools model.
* Build respectful, trusting relationships with children, families, and the broader culturally and linguistically diverse school community.
* Has a growth mindset and a commitment to lifelong learning, engaging in ongoing professional development to refine practice and stay abreast of early years research.
