Our client is a family-owned and operated pastoral enterprise in Western Australia's Pilbara, running a large aggregation of cattle stations stretching across the northern coastal area. With a strong team culture and a focus on practical, hands-on operations, the business manages a prominent herd of Brahman and Brahman-cross cattle.
Located in one of WA's most remote and scenic locations approximately 110 km northwest of the iconic outback town of Marble Bar, this is an ideal chance for a capable and adaptable couple who want to contribute to the daily running of a working cattle station while enjoying the satisfaction of outback living.
We are seeking a capable and motivated couple to join our client's team as Boreman & Caretaker Couple. The station is operated by an on-site Manager, with additional staff assisting during mustering and yard work from a nearby company station.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Boreman:
- Carry out regular water runs to check and maintain bores, pumps, tanks, and troughs
- Identify and repair faults in water infrastructure
- Maintain records of water usage and bore performance
- Operate machinery and tools for maintenance and repair work
Caretaker Couple (shared duties):
- General property upkeep, including fencing, yard repairs, and maintenance
- Assist with mustering using motorbikes and yard work during cattle handling
- Domestic tasks such as gardening, cleaning, and general upkeep of homestead
- Meal preparation for up to 10 people during mustering periods
Selection Criteria:
- Both applicants must hold a current driver's licence and have their own vehicle
- Practical skills for bore and water infrastructure maintenance (Boreman)
- Comfortable with remote living and working conditions
- Physically fit, self-motivated, and willing to work across various duties
- Previous experience with cattle and station work highly desirable
