Activities Support Officer - Part-Time (minimum 20 hours per week, flexible, extra hours available during busy periods)
Katoomba Christian Convention (KCC) is a not-for-profit Christian organisation with a rich history dating back to 1903. Every year, we welcome thousands of people to our seven major Christian conventions, each drawing over 2,000 attendees. Our conference centre is also a vibrant hub for school camps, church retreats, corporate groups and community events, where we’re passionate about delivering warm hospitality, fun activities and memorable guest experiences.
Nestled on 28 acres of bushland right next to the Blue Mountains National Park, our beautiful Katoomba site offers a unique setting and can host up to 540 guests.
We are seeking an Activities Support Officer with a positive, can-do, customer-focused attitude to join our team on site in Katoomba.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support
Provide detailed administrative oversight to ensure compliance across all activities and programs.
- Programming Assistance
Support the Activities Coordinator and Guest Liaison Team in the planning, coordination and delivery of activity programming.
- Program Delivery
Serve as an additional resource for running and facilitating on-site programs as required.
Essential Criteria
- Experience and/or qualification in an Outdoor Leadership/Guiding oriented area
- Experience and/or understanding and aptitude in assisting with the continuous development of best practice activities compliance, including risk assessments, standard operating procedures and policy documents
- Current NSW drivers license
- Capacity to be part of a Christ-centered organisational culture
- High level organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent skills in customer service, sales and administration
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office package
- People person, quick to develop rapport, with leadership skills
- Physically capable - able to lift up to 20kg, stand for long periods and work outdoors
- Adept at effectively communicating with guests, staff and contractors
- Excellent initiative and problem solving skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities to meet guest needs
- Strong multi-tasking, organisational and time management planning skills
- Team player, and able to work independently
- Good work ethic with integrity and a “can do” positive attitude
- High standard of written and spoken English
- Understanding of the not-for-profit sector and Christian camping
