Description

The HSE Co‐ordinator is a highly visible, collaborative role which supports all Health, Safety & Environment activity across the Rowville factory and office. You'll make a tangible impact in embedding safe ways of working, providing practical and technical HSE guidance and coordinating safety initiatives that lift awareness, engagement and everyday safety ownership.

This role partners closely with the manufacturing team across the site to make safety simple, visible and consistently applied – so we're looking for a person‐centred, collaborative candidate who is also comfortable challenging when required, bringing a collaborative approach to HSE.

Key Responsibilities

Build Everyday Safety Culture

* Support site leaders to reinforce safety as a natural part of how we work.
* Coordinate behavioural safety activities such as safety walks.
* Drive practical initiatives that encourage safer habits at all levels.
* Assist in completing risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
* Coordinate and track HSE training to ensure completion and impact.
* Effective training to build HSE competencies for the team.
* Support the rollout of Beyond Zero training and safety inductions for new starters.

Provide Practical HSE Support both locally and globally

* Work with the manufacturing team on HSE risks, compliance requirements, and safe practices.
* Support our people to co‐develop simple, effective risk‐reduction plans.
* Support the HSE Committee with coordination, preparation and follow‐up actions.
* Act as the local contact for the global HSE team including representation at team meetings.
* Be an expert in root cause analysis, trend analysis driven out of HSE data.

Strengthen Safety Governance

* Coordinate compliance activities aligned with Health, Safety, Environment and Workers Compensation regulations and standards.
* Have a current knowledge of current HSE regulations, and stay across developments.
* Maintain and monitor procedures, policies and audit‐related documentation.
* Collect, consolidate and report monthly HSE and environmental data.
* Track injury and incident data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.

Support Injury Reduction & Recovery

* Assist leaders with strategic actions that reduce workplace injuries.
* Coordinate return‐to‐work plans and support WorkCover processes.
* Support implementation of the site injury management program.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* Experience in HSE/OHS in a manufacturing site.
* Understanding of safety regulations and compliance.
* Skilled in building relationships, with a proactive approach to safety.
* Ability to work with and support stakeholders internally and externally.
* Ability to identify and act on risks and incidents across the factory and office.
* Experience with embedding safety systems, policies and processes in line with creating an overall safety culture.
* Understanding of return to work, Workcover claim management and WorkSafe working in partnership with HR.
* Supporting external audits when required.
