About The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will provide frontline leadership and supervision of heavy vehicle maintenance activities. You will ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while maximising fleet availability and reliability. This role is critical to maintaining the performance of a large and diverse mining fleet and driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Providing direct supervision of contractors and sub-contractors working within the area of responsibilityMonitoring work tasks closely and helping resolve any associated issues promptlyPromote and maintain a strong safety-first culture aligned with Glencore SafeWork principlesCoordinate planned maintenance and breakdown response to minimise production impactsSupport planning and scheduling to optimise labour and resource utilisationMentor, coach, and develop tradespeople and apprenticesEnsure compliance with maintenance systems, standards, and statutory requirementsMonitor fleet performance and drive reliability and continuous improvement initiativesConducting toolbox talks and team safety meetings to promote a safety-conscious work environment

CAT 793D haul trucksCAT 6060 / 6040 excavatorsD10 / D11 dozersCAT 992 / 995 loadersEpiroc and Caterpillar Drills
About You
Trade qualified Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle MechanicProven experience supervising maintenance teams in mining or heavy industryStrong working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and maintenance practicesExperience on Epiroc and Caterpillar surface production drillsSound understanding of maintenance and reliability principlesDemonstrated leadership capability with a focus on team developmentStrong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience with maintenance management systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office
