About the Role

The Operations Team Leader plays a vital role in driving operational excellence in e-commerce warehouse environments. Lead high-performing team to ensure exceptional customer experiences through efficient order fulfilment, accurate inventory management, and ongoing process improvement.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily warehouse operations, supervising staff, implementing training programs, troubleshooting logistical challenges, and analysing performance data. The role requires proactive problem-solving, especially during peak seasons, to ensure timely order fulfilment.

Improvements in KPIs such as order accuracy and fulfilment speed measure success. Achievements include fostering a culture of accountability, optimising labour utilisation, and integrating new technologies to enhance operations. This dynamic leadership position has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and brand reputation.

Core Responsibilities & Leadership Focus

This role is critical for the day-to-day execution of warehouse activities, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include:

* Scheduling and allocating resources based on daily requirements, inbound and outbound volumes and critical deadlines.
* Monitoring team performance closely, providing constructive feedback, and proactively addressing any productivity issues or bottlenecks.
* Conducting regular safety inspections, reinforcing safety protocols, and ensuring all team members adhere to best practices.
* Training new employees on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety standards, while also facilitating ongoing skill development for the team.
* Troubleshooting operational problems, resolving immediate issues, and escalating complex matters to the Warehouse Manager when necessary.
* Develop and implement data-driven cost‐saving initiatives, such as waste reduction, reducing packaging waste and optimised labour scheduling models.
* Implement and manage comprehensive inventory cycle count and monthly stock counts within Shopify, investigating discrepancies in negative inventory, and implementing corrective actions to maintain high data integrity.
Warehouse Administrator / Data Entry
* Returns for Prescriptions/Readers/Sunglasses, Custom Frame Labels: All returns, including Return to Sender (RTS) orders, must be completed as standard procedure moving forward.
* Return to Sender Orders: Any emails related to Return to Sender orders should now be reassigned to the Warehouse Team in Customer Service.
* Stocktake and Data Entry Duties: Tasks previously handled under Stock take and Data Entry will be redistributed or automated to support greater efficiency. Generating various operational reports (e.g. productivity, inventory levels, shipment status).
* Assisting with general office duties and communication within the warehouse team.
* Supporting the Warehouse Manager with administrative tasks as needed.

This role is based in Perth, with an expectation of being on‐site five days a week to foster collaboration and momentum.

Experience Required
* 1+ years in warehouse operations
* Coordinating daily team activities and workflow to meet fulfilment deadlines
* Monitoring order accuracy and implementing quality control procedures
* Conducting regular safety inspections and addressing hazardous conditions
* Training new team members on procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
* Maintaining equipment readiness and coordinating maintenance schedules
* Resolving operational issues and escalating complex problems to management
