Our Mechanical team requires an experienced mechanic to join our growing vehicle service and repair workshop. At least 1 -2 years of relevant experience is required. Salary $77,000 per annum plus superannuation.
General Duties Include
* Major & Minor Service & Repairs
* Checking and repairing brakes, gear & clutches
* Tyres and wheel alignment
* Timing belts & chains, suspension lifts, engine tuning
* Conducting vehicle inspections and test drives to find possible faults or malfunctions
* Accurate detection of faults in mechanical parts and vehicle engines using technical testing equipment
* Repairing mechanical components, including (but not limited to) transmissions, engine assemblies, and steering mechanisms, and completing a thorough inspection of the components.
* Completing required repair work to mechanical components, or where necessary, undertaking the replacement of parts in accordance with relevant service manuals.
* Ensure all parts, labour and materials used are recorded on vehicle job cards
* Performance of regular vehicle maintenance services, including the replacement of vehicle fluids such as oil, engine tune-ups or lubricants, ensuring the vehicles run effectively.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Contribute to team effort by working with others to achieve results as needed.
* Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, ensuring a professional and polite manner when communicating with customers.
Skills and Attributes Required:
* Vehicle Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III / IV)
* Advanced mechanical, electrical (preferred but not essential) and diagnostic capabilities
* The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised, coupled with a strong work ethic
* Previous experience coaching and mentoring apprentices and staff
* Tyre fitting, wheel balancing & wheel aligning experience
* Experience with inventory and stock control
* A strong background in scheduling and prioritising of resources and time
* Good communication skills in English, Hindi and Punjabi (would be an advantage)
