Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service are seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the team.
The Team
Hepatology sits within the Gastroenterology Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), Tasmania's largest tertiary referral hospital and a key clinical service within the Department of Health. The Hepatology team provides specialist care to patients with acute and chronic liver disease across Southern Tasmania, with statewide referral responsibilities.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Hepatology) is a senior leadership role within this multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical practice, coordination of care, and professional leadership across inpatient and outpatient settings. The CNC works in close collaboration with Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, nursing and allied health colleagues, and community partners to deliver high‐quality, patient‐centred care and improve health outcomes.

The Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Hepatology) provides advanced clinical expertise and professional leadership within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service at the Royal Hobart Hospital. The role supports high‐quality, evidence‐based care for patients with acute and chronic liver disease across inpatient, outpatient, and community interfaces.
This role offers an opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice with leadership, education, and service improvement, contributing to improved liver health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
You will need
* Demonstrated extensive skills, knowledge and experience in the delivery of contemporary, personalised, high quality care to individuals affected by liver disease, including knowledge of and experience with harm minimisation strategies, self‐management and behaviour change.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively and support the Medical Specialist and nursing staff in applying contemporary management principles in a clinical setting within a multidisciplinary management team.
* Proven knowledge of legal and ethical requirements, relevant policies and procedures of the practice setting, demonstrated awareness of professional issues which impact on service delivery, and the demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to the development and evaluation of services provided and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.
Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker, working 32 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Allowance
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Essential criteria
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Desirable criteria
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
