Lily Paris is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing food preparation and cooking operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and supporting menu development in line with the business's French-inspired concept. This role requires a reliable, skilled professional who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards
* Ensuring all meals are consistently prepared to a high standard with excellent presentation
* Collaborating with the owner to develop new menu items and seasonal recipes
* Preparing and managing daily prep lists for kitchen staff to ensure efficient service
* Monitoring food quality during preparation, cooking, and service
* Managing food stock levels, ordering supplies, and conducting stocktakes
* Controlling food costs, minimising waste, and ensuring cost-effective kitchen operations
* Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any maintenance or repair requirements
* Ensuring compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
* Assisting with training and supervising kitchen staff when required
Required Skills and Experience
* Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment (a minimum of three years)
* Ability to prepare and cook food efficiently in a high-volume and fast-paced setting
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations
* Excellent attention to detail and plate presentation
* Passion for fresh, homemade, and high-quality food
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Salary and Conditions
Annual salary of AUD $80000-$85000 plus 12% superannuation
Full-time, ongoing position
