More than a tourism company, we are also a major property investor and developer. In the coming financial year will invest $130M in new properties and $130M in developing existing properties and have an ambitious plan to double the size of the Group in the next five years through continued scale and diversification.
Our marketing team is expanding in line with this growth plan. We recently appointed a new CMO and are currently recruiting several positions to increase capability across digital experience, CRM, local area marketing, data and insights. **The Role**
In recent years, Discovery has been expanding its portfolio of properties into more unique regional resorts, thereby attracting a new customer segment to the brand. The portfolio now includes iconic Australian properties including El Questro, Kings Canyon, Glen Helen, Rottnest Island, Undara and McCracken. The Resorts Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the brand, strategy and execution for this enviable Discovery Resorts portfolio to deepen customer loyalty and drive business growth.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Develop the brand vision, propositions and creative platforms that drive customer love and loyalty for our resort brands
- Leverage customer insight and market trends to craft outcome driven marketing plans that amplify key seasonal and cultural opportunities across each resort
- Be a visionary for what leading resorts should be and bring the organization on the journey
- Partner with Operations to create moments that matter in park, bringing the brand promise to life and ensuring a memorable experience for all guests
- Continually improve the ways of working and marketing processes to drive scale without complexity as the business continues to rapidly grow
- Influence internally and externally to ensure the voice of the resorts customer is front and centre in our marketing approach
**Your Experience**
As the Resorts Marketing Manager you will be an experienced tourism leader who knows what good looks like when it comes to resort marketing.
You will have a rich experience leveraging insight and global trends to re-imagine the experience and marketing approach across a diverse portfolio and customer set. Core to this will be passion for delivering impactful creativity across all customer touchpoints, with particular focus on the digital journey, marketing channels and support of park experience. You know how to harness the power of internal and external partners to influence audiences and drive business outcomes.
This is a crucial marketing role in an agile, high growth business that is rapidly developing a regional resorts portfolio that is best in class. Moving at pace and shifting seamlessly between strategy and creative execution will be important, while establishing the standards and marketing structures that will be help the resorts to scale without complexity.
Your relevant industry experience combined with Tertiary qualifications and continuous personal improvement are essential. You're a great communicator and lead with integrity and passion. Commitment to developing your team and bringing them, and other stakeholders, on this marketing journey should be a key motivation and measure of success in this role.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced strategic operator, have high commercial skills and respond quickly to market opportunity as it presents. You will rely on your analytical strengths and commercial acumen while continuously leveraging traditional brand and strategic experience. Key behaviours needed to succeed include curiosity, listening, pragmatism, drive, flexibility and maturity.
