The Organisation
PATCH Property Maintenance and Repairs exists to support community services organisations (particularly Out-of-Home Care providers) by taking care of their operational property needs. Our goal is to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for children and young persons in care. We take pride in delivering prompt, high-quality maintenance and repair services — so our clients can focus on what matters most.
We are growing, and currently have a high demand for services in the South-West Brisbane and Ipswich areas.
The Role
We're on the lookout for a skilled Maintenance All-Rounder, with a particular strength in plastering and patching work, to join our close-knit team. You’ll carry out a broad range of property maintenance and repair tasks across residential homes and office settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plastering and painting repairs – must be confident in repairing walls, patching holes, sanding and restoring surfaces to a high standard
- Minor carpentry and plumbing work (e.g., repairing fixtures, replacing doors, etc.)
- Set-up of new homes/services – delivering and assembling furniture
- General property maintenance – both internal and external (including regular lawn mowing)
- Make safe repairs and restoration following incidents
- Liaising with management for job instructions and updates
- Completing worksheets for time and materials used
- Prioritising tasks based on urgency and OH&S; standards
The Candidate
We're looking for a hands-on, reliable team player who can work independently and take pride in quality workmanship.
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in plastering/patching/painting – ability to return damaged properties to a 'like-new' condition
- General property and grounds maintenance experience
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Explicit, professional communication skills
- Current First Aid Certificate
- National Police Check, Blue Card (Working with Children Check), and Yellow Card – or willingness to obtain
- Valid Driver’s Licence (no restrictions)
- Physically capable of lifting, assembling, and moving furniture or machinery
- A respectful and calm approach when interacting with young persons in care, if required
Highly Regarded:
- Trade background in plastering, painting, carpentry or similar
- Previous experience in community services, accommodation, real estate, or hospitality settings
