About the Role
As a Draftsperson at Werner Engineering, you’ll play a crucial role in the design and drafting process, ensuring the delivery of accurate, high-quality plans for a variety of projects. This role requires someone who thrives under pressure, has a keen eye for detail, and can think on their feet to solve problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting designs for large and small projects, including the refurbishment and manufacturing of mining, rail, farming, and port equipment.
- Collaborating with machinists and fitters to ensure designs are practical and feasible.
- Reviewing project specifications and ensuring designs meet customer requirements.
- Conducting site visits to gather measurements, assess conditions, and oversee implementation as required.
- Maintaining accurate and organized documentation for all drafting work.
- Working both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and project goals.
About You
- Experience: Advanced experience in drafting, particularly in machining and fitting applications.
- Skills: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Enjoys working as part of a supportive team while being capable of managing tasks independently.
- Adaptability: Comfortable with site work and collaborating across various engineering projects.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in industry-standard drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Knowledge: Understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
