The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) led by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) are looking for a Health Promotion Officer to join the GRPHU team on an ongoing basis. The GRPHU is one of nine public health units across Victoria, working closely with the Department of Health in a statewide system of public health delivery and oversight.
Reporting to the Population Health Lead, you'll play an important role in identifying priorities for health promotion, primary prevention and early intervention to achieve outcomes consistent with the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Outcomes Framework.
This role takes into account the diversity of the local catchment; reducing health inequalities is a key objective of population health approaches, and factors such as gender equity and intersectionality among the Gippsland population will be an important consideration in planning decisions and intervention design.
The position will be located in Traralgon and will serve the communities of Latrobe Valley and Baw Baw Shire. The successful applicant will work closely with partners across the local prevention sector, the GRPHU regional teams and the community.

We are looking for candidates with:
5. Good level of knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of population health, health promotion and chronic disease prevention
6. Demonstrated skills and experience in stakeholder engagement communication, presentation, facilitation, research
7. Experience in project management and in the planning delivery and evaluation of projects
8. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
