SalDoce Fine Foods is seeking Purchasing manager to join our team and contribute to our innovative and growth-driven culture. This role focuses on managing internal sales, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders—including customers and suppliers—and ensuring smooth logistical operations.
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory management processes, ensuring seamless coordination between suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams. The role focuses on optimising costs, building strong supplier relationships, and maintaining efficient stock levels to support production and sales activities.
Key Objectives:
· Coordinate production timing with contract manufacturers and suppliers to prevent out of stock issues
· Ensure optimal stock levels of ingredients, packaging and finished goods to meet company profit and operational targets.
· Negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers
· Develop and sustain strong relationship with contract manufacturers and key supplier
Key accountabilities include the following but not limited to:
Purchasing and Inventory Management
· Procurement of ingredients, packaging and other materials required for production
· Control and monitor ingredient and packaging stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
· Perform batching and inventory checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational standards.
· Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Production Coordination
· Collaborate with the Sales team to analyse sales trends and forecasts, to plan and align production schedules effectively.
· Coordinate with the Director and contract manufacturers to align production schedules with sales forecasts.
· Ensure optimal stock levels of finished goods across various warehouse locations.
· Forecast ingredients and packaging requirements based on sales and production schedules
· Manage production forms, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of production activities.
· Maintain accurate records of raw materials, packaging and finished goods, in the ERP system
· Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy
Supplier and Relationship Management
* Build and sustain strong relationships with key suppliers and contract manufacturers.
* Address supply chain disruptions proactively and negotiate resolutions.
* Analyse supplier performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency
Operational and Administrative Support
· Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
· Handle supplier contracts and ensure compliance with company policies.
· Submit and approve supplier invoices, ensuring timely payments in collaboration with finance.
· Provide support in Quality Assurance Team along with the production records
Required Skills and Competencies:
* Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
* Proficiency in inventory control and batching processes.
* Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
· Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office and ERP system
This position is ideal for an individual who excels at balancing the technical and relational aspects of purchasing with little supervision, ensuring the company's operational and financial goals are consistently met.
