Role Overview
We are looking for an Offline Editor to assemble and shape projects from initial rushes through to picture lock.
You'll be responsible for managing media, building a strong narrative, and preparing projects for online, grade and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Offline editing
Assemble edits from rushes according to brief and script
Create and refine sequences, selects, and versions for internal and client review
Add temp music, sound effects and basic sound balancing for previews
Basic colour work
Perform basic colour grading and balancing for offline edits
Ensure picture consistency across shots and sequences
Audio & delivery
Prepare video and audio deliveries in stereo and 5.1 (where required)
Organise and export audio-visual materials for sound mix and online
Ensure export settings, frame rates, codecs and aspect ratios match delivery specs
Cinema & DCP
Export DCPs for cinema screenings according to given specs
Perform basic QC on DCPs (checking sync, levels, picture, and subtitles where applicable)
Media & project management
File / media management: organise project files, media, and timelines clearly and consistently
Maintain clean project structures for handover to online, grade and sound
Archive and back up projects following studio workflow
Graphics and text
Title card placement and basic text layouts
Add and adjust subtitles and captions as required
Work with templates and brand guidelines to maintain consistent look
Collaboration
Work closely with producers, directors and post supervisors to implement feedback
Version control and clearly label WIPs and deliverables
Communicate any technical or scheduling issues early
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Solid experience editing in at least one NLE (Premiere Pro, Avid, or DaVinci Resolve)
Understanding of:
Basic colour correction / grading
Audio levels, exports and file formats
Frame rates, resolutions and aspect ratios
Experience with:
Stereo and 5.1 exports (or willingness to learn quickly)
Creating/exporting DCPs (or demonstrable technical aptitude to learn)
Strong organisational skills for file and project management
Good eye for pacing, performance, and visual continuity
Ability to work to deadlines and take direction and feedback
Nice to have:
Experience working with subtitling software or workflows
Basic graphic design or motion graphics skills (e.g. simple lower thirds, title cards)
Previous experience in a post-production / production environment
