The Princess Alexandra Hospital Permanent Nurse Pool is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to provide clinical leadership, education, and support across one of Queensland's largest and most diverse Health Services. This role offers autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to influence care, culture, and capability across the hospital.

Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse within the Permanent Nurse Pool, you will play a pivotal leadership role supporting high-quality, person-centred care across multiple clinical areas. Working autonomously and collaboratively, you will guide clinical practice, support staff development, and contribute to operational and strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Providing advanced clinical leadership and expert decision-making across a diverse, hospital-wide workforce
* Supporting and coordinating nursing staff, including supervision and leadership in the absence of the Nurse Manager (NG7)
* Leading and contributing to portfolios such as education, rostering, recruitment, data collection, and competency compliance
* Driving quality, safety, education, and innovation through evidence-based practice, audit, and continuous improvement
About You
You are an experienced Registered Nurse who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys leading, mentoring, and supporting others across a broad range of clinical settings.
You Will Bring
* Advanced clinical knowledge with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills
* Experience in staff coordination, rostering, education, performance development, and recruitment
* Confidence using ieMR, Microsoft Office, and clinical information systems
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across all levels of staff

Princess Alexandra Hospital:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
