Electrotech Australia is a leader in the supply, servicing, support and installation of marine electronic, navigation, communications and instrumentation systems, aboard Australian Border Force, Defence and commercial shipping throughout Australian waters.
We are currently seeking an ambitious and highly skilled Marine Electronics Technician with capabilities across electronic instruments, control and monitoring systems, as well expertise installing, maintaining, and diagnosing marine communications and navigation equipment.
The position involves the installation, commissioning, testing, calibration, fault‐finding, maintenance and repair of electronic instruments and systems used in marine environments, including communications, navigation, safety and vessel monitoring equipment.
You will be responsible for:
* Perform technical services including installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing marine electronic instruments, control, monitoring and communications and navigation systems aboard vessels with professionalism and precision.
* Maintain tools, test and calibrate equipment and maintain spare parts in optimal condition.
* Diagnosing faults in electronic instruments and systems using appropriate equipment.
* Stay current with marine electronics technologies through training and collaboration.
* Conduct shipboard and workshop tasks efficiently and safely.
* Prepare technical documentation, service reports, and compliance records in line with quality assurance standards and systems.
* Issue quotations, tenders, and purchase orders within delegated authority.
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
* Represent Electrotech Australia professionally when liaising with clients, and referring identified sales opportunities to management.
If you:
* Have relevant qualifications or at least 3 years work experience in lieu
* Have demonstrated experience as an electronics technician, with experience working on electronic instruments, systems, and equipment
* Have experience installing, maintaining or fault-finding electronic, instrumentation, navigation or communications systems (marine experience highly regarded)
* Have strong attention to detail, quality and compliance
* Are enthusiastic about boats and ships and love being on the water
* Are self-motivated, flexible, organised, a clear communicator, highly technical with an eye for detail and a passion for quality

We work to a high standard and often to tight timeframes, and on a wide range of vessels from Defence, Australian Border Force, Commercial Vessels and Superyachts. Urgent services sometimes need to be performed over weekends or public holidays to meet our client's shipping schedules and expectations.
The right candidate should be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with work rights, with eligibility to obtain a Defence security clearance, and hold a valid Australian Driver's license.
$100,000 - $110,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)
