Led by Brad Mucklow, Owner and Managing Director, alongside his three sons, Class A remains proudly family‐run. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on turning vision into results, enjoys building high‐performing teams, and wants real authority in a family‐owned luxury business.
About the role
The General Manager will run the day‐to‐day operations of Class A Jewellers, driving performance, operational excellence, and profitable growth. You will mentor and develop the next generation of leaders, including the owners' sons, while embedding systems, processes, and structures to ensure sustainable growth. This role allows the Owner to step back from daily management and contribute at a strategic, director‐level capacity.
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Business Strategy: translate the Owner's vision into clear, actionable plans. Align all functions with strategic priorities. Set objectives, operating rhythms, and measurable outcomes. Anticipate risks and opportunities, balancing short‐term execution with long‐term growth
* Leadership & Capability: develop and mentor emerging leaders through structured plans and coaching. Foster accountability, ownership, and high performance across teams. Create a culture of collaboration, growth, and commercial discipline
* Financial & Commercial Performance: oversee budgets, PNL, forecasts, and EBITDA delivery. Embed financial discipline across the business and make data‐informed decisions that balance growth with profitability
* Operations, Supply & Inventory: optimise end‐to‐end operations, including sourcing, manufacturing, inventory, warehousing, and fulfilment. Implement scalable workflows and strengthen supplier partnerships. Drive efficiency while maintaining exceptional quality
* Product Development: Use market insights and stage‐gate processes to ensure products are both innovative and commercially viable. Deliver exceptional customer experiences and measurable ROI.
* National Expansion: lead new store openings and retail expansion across Australia. Build scalable frameworks to ensure every expansion is commercially sound and operationally excellent.
* Brand & Marketing: partner with the Marketing Director to align brand, campaigns, and revenue targets, ensuring every customer touchpoint reflects the Class A standard of quality and service
* Systems & Infrastructure: implement and optimise critical business systems and enable data‐led decisions, scalability, and operational visibility.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is a seasoned operator with a proven track record in leading high‐growth, consumer‐focused businesses, ideally within luxury or premium categories. You bring strategic insight, operational excellence and commercial acumen - you thrive on turning vision into measurable outcomes.
You are a people‐first leader with a deep commitment to mentoring and developing talent. You understand the balance of empowering teams while holding them accountable, and you take pride in building high‐performing, motivated and commercially literate leadership teams.
You possess a founder's mentality: hands‐on, action‐oriented, and willing to challenge the status quo to drive innovation and excellence. Systems thinking comes naturally to you, and you can implement scalable processes that support long‐term growth without compromising quality, culture, or values. Commercially, you bring the expertise to optimise margins, forecast effectively, and make data‐informed decisions that ensure the business thrives.
You are resilient, adaptable, and confident in navigating ambiguity. You see opportunity in complexity, and you are comfortable leading a family‐owned business with respect, transparency, and authority. Above all, you are motivated by the chance to make a tangible impact on a business with heritage, guiding it toward growth while shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Success looks like
Success in this role is measured by a thriving business and capable leadership:
* Class A operates with robust systems, operational discipline, and strong commercial performance.
* The Owner is able to step back from day‐to‐day operations and focus on strategic priorities.
* The owners' sons and other emerging leaders are confident, capable, and ready to take on future responsibility.
* Teams are high‐performing, accountable, and engaged, aligned with a clear vision and measurable KPIs.
* National expansion, product launches, and marketing initiatives are executed with precision, profitability, and brand integrity.
* Class A continues to grow its reputation, influence, and market share while preserving the family values and craftsmanship at its core.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a business with a storied heritage, real authority, and the chance to leave a lasting legacy, operationally, commercially, and culturally.
