Process Engineer – Food Manufacturing
Are you an innovative engineer looking to make a real impact in a fast-paced FMCG food manufacturing environment? Our client, a leading food manufacturer in Silverwater, is seeking a Process Engineer to drive process improvement, product development, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on, dynamic role where you'll work directly with operators on the floor, cross-functional teams, and external partners to optimise end-to-end manufacturing processes.
Why This Role is Exciting
* Opportunity to shape and improve entire production processes, not just individual tasks
* Work closely with a diverse, collaborative team across Manufacturing, Maintenance, QA, Supply Chain, WHS, and NPD
* Directly contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
* Be part of a safety-conscious, food- and pharmaceutical-grade environment, maintaining high standards in hygiene, temperature control, and equipment safety
* Chance to see your engineering solutions come to life from concept to implementation
Key Responsibilities
* Identify opportunities for process improvement by observing operations, speaking with operators, and analysing production workflows
* Plan and coordinate engineering projects, including larger-scale process improvements, with internal and external stakeholders
* Maintain documentation, manuals, and records to support process changes and training
* Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) team to design, implement, and optimise food manufacturing processes
* Ensure production is timely, cost-effective, and minimises downtime from machine failure
* Support WHS compliance and continual improvement initiatives
* Ensure equipment and machinery are operated safely, and assist with manual handling when required
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (minimum)
* 2+ years experience in FMCG engineering (3+ years preferred)
* Experience with CAD / AutoCAD (3D modelling for tools/equipment) and Visio (process flowcharts)
* Food or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience and knowledge of safety, hygiene, and temperature control requirements
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
* Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a plus to support communication with operators
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who thrives in hands-on, cross-functional roles, enjoys solving complex production challenges, and wants to be part of a growing, innovative food manufacturing business.
