About the Role
This is a full lifecycle operational leadership role with accountability across sales presentation, site investigation, pre‐construction review, delivery of new build and specialist fitout, and client handover. You will lead and be accountable for the performance of Project Managers, Contract Administrators, Site Managers, Operations Coordinator, and Head of Safety & Quality.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the team of PMs, CAs, site managers, and operational staff.
* Review and improve delivery performance and operational infrastructure.
* Import structured governance and systems from larger environments into a $1m–$15m D&C business.
* Maintain at least one active project to pressure‐test systems, maintain delivery credibility and ensure practical reporting frameworks.
* Oversee operational reporting, job cost visibility, AR discipline, safety and quality systems.
* Spend first six months deeply understanding the business, evaluating current processes, and leading thoughtful system evolution.
* Work within existing systems and reporting structures, evaluate, and recommend structural or software changes.
* Ensure client experience is strategic, deliver client trust through calm, structured decision‐making, and balance flexibility with commercial discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Building, Engineering or related discipline.
* Strong technical grounding in construction methodology.
* Lean / Six Sigma training.
* Experience leading portfolio of multiple concurrent $1m–$15m projects.
* Experience implementing delivery systems or governance frameworks.
* Strong reporting and WIP discipline.
* Leadership of PMs, CAs, site managers and operational support roles.
* Extensive client engagement experience.
* Commercial maturity without an adversarial posture.
* Comfortable operating with ambiguity and flexible in aligning construction approaches to evolving client requirements.
* Willing to step into detail and accept responsibility for portfolio outcomes.
