Job Title
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, electrical or instrumentation and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The role will involve maintaining service delivery within various instrumentation networks, including Doppler Rain Radars, Automatic Weather Stations (AWS), Upper-Air monitoring systems (Sounding Balloons) and Flood warning/rainfall monitoring systems. The successful candidate will also be responsible for undertaking routine and detailed operational diagnostics, fault finding and undertaking moderately complex site selection inspection and evaluation for operational equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development and actively support the delivery of assigned work package activities, project work and site support activities assigned to you and your team.
2. Undertake routine and detailed operational diagnostics, fault finding.
3. Undertake moderately complex site selection inspection and evaluation for operational equipment and systems.
4. Support and evaluate site equipment, infrastructure, instrumentation and maintain documentation and records.
5. Monitor network outputs and take or recommend corrective actions as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) in electronics or electrical from an Australian educational institution, OR
- A comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties, OR
- Relevant experience and training, which enables the employee to competently perform the duties at this level, OR
- Other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties.
Desirable Qualifications/ Licences/Competencies include: Data Cabling Licence, Restricted Electrical Licence QLD, Electrical Test and Tag competency, Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas, Working Safely at Heights, Remote First Aid and Off-road, 4WD competencies.
