The Opportunity


This is a sales role for someone who understands the construction industry and sees the opportunity ahead. Working with architects, developers, consultants, builders, and engineers, the successful candidate will get Zimi products specified into projects from the design phase, own the pipeline from specification through to installation, and deliver results that directly impact company growth.


Key Responsibilities



• Identify and secure product specification opportunities across residential, multi-storey residential, and commercial projects

• Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, electrical consultants, and builders

• Manage and report on project pipeline, tracking opportunities from specification to installation

• Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to design professionals and stakeholders

• Educate the market on Zimi's smart home solutions and competitive advantages

• Collaborate with technical teams to provide specification support and project-specific solutions

• Achieve and exceed sales targets with a disciplined, results-driven approach

• Meet specific project count targets as the primary performance metric for sales success

• Provide accurate forecasting and regular pipeline reporting to management

• Represent Zimi at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions


About You


This role is for someone who wants to shift a market. Home automation is becoming standard due to the value it provides, the power of smart home platforms, and the arrival of Matter as the universal connectivity standard. The ideal candidate has years of experience in the construction market, understands how to work with builders, developers, architects, and consultants, and knows the process from specification through construction. With established relationships that open doors, this person doesn't need training - they need a product ready for market transformation and a company that backs their sales strategy.


Essential Requirements



• Proven track record in sales within electrical, lighting, or building technology sectors

• Minimum 4-5 years of sales experience in electrical, controls, or building technology sectors

• Established relationships with architects, developers, consultants, and builders

• Deep understanding of project lifecycle from design through to construction

• Demonstrated ability to manage and accurately forecast a complex sales pipeline

• Excellent presentation and communication skills with technical and design audiences

• Strong project management capabilities with meticulous attention to detail

• Results-oriented mindset with history of meeting or exceeding targets


Even Better



• Experience with smart home technology, control systems, or IoT devices

• Proven track record taking new products to market

• Connections within residential and multi-storey residential construction sectors

• Experience in project specification and dealing with decision makers
