Primary objective
Work in partnership with and provide high level strategic advice to executive management, school leadership and staff in relation
to the development and implementation of digital and data programs and strategies to transform the use of solutions to inform
teaching and learning.

Context statement
The Strategic Projects branch ensures that programs and projects align with agency, Northern Territory Government (NTG), and
Australian Government priorities. It promotes and maintains program management standards, ensuring consistent delivery and
portfolio reporting. The branch also leads the response to strategic digital technology priorities and guides the department’s digital
direction. The team develops and implements tactical plans to ensure the productive delivery of enterprise applications and digital
services, working closely with business areas, OneNTG partners, consultants, and business analysts to achieve outcomes.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and actively manage relationships and networks with school and corporate leaders, OneNTG partners and Australian

Government consultants to ensure the department’s digital and data direction is effectively and strategically implemented,
guided by the needs of clients, and delivers solutions and services that support the department’s improvement agenda.

2. Consult with and provide high level advice to schools, corporate leaders, and governance committees in relation to digital
policy and strategy including conditions for safe and compliant use of digital platforms to transform and embed the use of
digital and data within government schools to improve outcomes for all NT students.

3. Understand the NT school environment and provide advice to school and corporate leaders on available digital services, and
advocate and influence improvement to meet client’s needs and the department’s strategic plan.

4. Develop, tailor and work in partnership to deliver communications, training and change management strategies and activities
for digital and data initiatives ensuring clarity for clients.

5. Actively monitor contemporary and best practice education digital and data environments and solutions and build relationships
with OneNTG partners and industry partners, to ensure innovative, high quality digital and data platforms and services.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability work in an achievement focussed culture and to maintain high level personal performance including the

ability to manage pressure and modify approaches to suit rapidly changing client requirements.
2. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders,

to ensure appropriate and quality service delivery and drive change.
3. Extensive experience in digital and/or data solutions, projects, system, and initiatives.
4. High level oral and written communication skills, including negotiation capabilities that support achieving common goals and

influencing outcomes.
5. Demonstrated experience providing insightful and knowledgeable digital advice and support across the department to ensure

efficient use of digital platforms, and capacity building to improve all levels of digital use with school and corporate leaders.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of research and developments in the education and/or training sectors, particularly regarding

innovative education technology supporting school improvement.

Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications.
2. The successful applicant must have no significant criminal record confirmed by a Police Criminal History check and have, or be

in the process of obtaining, a current Working with Children Card.
