Neurosurgeon Role
The Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital seeks a skilled neurosurgeon to join its team. The selected applicant will work under the direction of Dr. Ameya Kamat, an accomplished Neurosurgeon specialising in brain tumour and spinal surgery.
Main duties include assessing neurosurgical patients, overseeing patient admission, management and discharge, and participating in the operating theatre. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to participate in the Department's 24-hr roster and have opportunities for research, peer review practices, Continued Medical Education, and supervision of junior medical staff.
To succeed, applicants must hold registration with the Medical Board of Australia, possess a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent, demonstrate experience applicable to Neurosurgery, and have a passion for rural, regional and Aboriginal healthcare.
