Overview
Our niche northside Brisbane-based business provides equipment to the allied health and fitness industry throughout Australia. We also have a growing international market and are seeking a contractor to accurately stitch together pre-cut fabric components to meet increasing demand. All materials are supplied and work will be constant. Some in-person training will be provided to ensure that the work is done in the way that we require it to be done. Sewing needs to be neat with a strong attention to detail and quality. Pre-cut shapes are provided weekly and are given in runs of up to 50 units to keep you sewing efficiently and profitably. Candidates must be capable of handling weekly production runs of 25-50 units to maintain efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
- Stitch together pre-cut fabric components to specification.
- Complete production runs of 25–50 units weekly to maintain efficient workflow.
- Set up and operate industrial sewing machines to accommodate different fabric types and stitching patterns.
- Maintain neat, high-quality sewing and pay close attention to detail.
- Follow established procedures to ensure product consistency.
- Reports for pickup and delivery of completed work as required.
Qualifications
- Long-term experience (minimum 5 years) with industrial sewing machines.
- Applicants must provide their own straight stitch sewing machine and 4-thread overlocker; walking foot for thicker materials is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, reliably, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to follow established procedures and self-assess the quality of work.
- Available to work in Australia; no outsourcing of work.
Location and logistics
- Contractors must provide their own pickup and delivery of completed work.
- Preferred: contractors located within 25 km of Geebung for effective pickup and delivery.
