Transform Lives as a Senior Clinical Psychologist/Health Psychologist - Repat Health Precinct
The role supports the Geriatric Memory Support Unit, which provides care for inpatients who are medically stable and are waiting transition to a community Residential Aged Care Facility. As a Senior Clinical Psychologist or Health Psychologist in our Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) units, you'll provide specialised psychological assessments and interventions for patients with complex medical, functional, and psychosocial needs in an inpatient hospital setting. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, a primary focus of the role includes consulting on and reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans to promote person-centred and trauma-informed care. The Senior Clinical/Health Psychologist will also contribute to staff training, supervision of students, quality improvements, and service development initiatives that align with our divisional purpose of optimising quality of life in rehabilitation, aged care, and palliative care services.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager Psychology, some of your duties as the Senior Clinical Psychologist/Health Psychologist may involve:
* Providing a specialist Clinical/Health Psychology service including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, positive behaviour support planning, evaluation, and consultation to patients and their carers individually and in group settings.
* Participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to clients.
* Developing systems for monitoring, reviewing, and improving the standards of services to clients.
About you:
* Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with an Area of Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology.
* Hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision, or: Eligible to complete PsyBA-accredited supervision. training and willing to undertake this training at the direction of the organisation to support the services' supervision requirements
* Experience providing psychological treatments.
* High level of ability to design, implement, and evaluate psychological procedures and interventions, including psychological assessments, and consultancy services, in relation to complex clients.
* Ability to apply specialist skills in resolving clinical problems.
* Demonstrated abilities in communication, liaison, and teamwork.
